Mongolian Massage, Chu-Ka

Close to the Tui Na massage comes the Mongolian massage known as Chua-Ka. Chua-ka is a deep tissue massage for releasing trapped pain and tension in the body. It releases trapped pain and tension in the body while freeing the psyche of its corresponding fears and preoccupations, Thus, working on the psychology along with the physical problem.

According to the Chua-ka philosophy, we are born as smooth and supple human beings. With age we lose this elasticity and build up deposits of metabolic waste products and memories of pain, which can be physical, emotional, mental or spiritual. The body and the mind form a unit. Everything that happens to the body is reflected in the mind and vice versa.

The aim of Chua-ka is to free the body and the mind of these stored deposits or memories, thus promoting better health and an enhanced sense of awareness. On the first visit, part of the time will be spent taking a history of the client's health, diet and lifestyle so that a treatment can be tailored to suit the client's individual needs.

During the session, specific thumb techniques are used to work with the deep tissue. In addition, the skin may be rolled in long, smooth strokes, which stimulate the circulatory system and enable the skin to regain some of its original elasticity. The treatment is gentle, yet deep, promoting an overall sense of well-being.

Towels are used for comfort and warmth. Chua-ka is suited to individuals, who wish to work towards greater self-awareness and better health.
