All About Massage
Massage is The Ultimate feel-good spa service. In addition to relieving stress, loosening tight muscles, and calming the spirit, massage improves circulation, creating a gorgeous all-over glow.
Do-it-yourself body massage
Now you have concentrated on your face, your body deserves a turn! Here are some hints and tips on how to do your own body massage. It really is simple and will leave your skin feeling glowing and supple. Make sure you’re warm and comfortable. Sit on a stool, or, if you prefer, a bath mat or a plush towel. Pour a small amount of massage, almond, or sesame oil into the palm of one hand. Add a drop of essential oil if desired. Rub your hands together to distribute the oil and place one hand on each side of your left ankle. With relaxed hands and small, circular motions, move up the calf. Pour more oil (and essential oil, if you’re using it) into your palm as needed throughout the massage. Repeat the steps with the right leg.
Starting above your left knee, work oil into your thigh using circular motions. Move up and down the thigh twice before repeating the procedure on your right thigh. Then, using your right hand, stroke firmly up and then down the length of your left arm. Using a kneading movement, massage the upper left arm; and then repeat then steps on your right arm.
Around your hips
Stand up. Massage your hips and buttocks using a two-handed kneading motion. Begin with the left side, starting at the base of the hip and moving up to the waist. Continue this bottomĀ to-top motion and move toward, then across the buttock. Repeat on your right side.
If you have a bit more time, recreate a spa “day of beauty” package by adding a manicure, pedicure, full-body exfoliation, and a scalp treatment.
